Stay behind e’ un film di spionaggio e di cospirazione, che mette in luce retroscena irrisolti riguardanti la Storia recente d’Italia. Si presenta come il prototipo per una serie televisiva incentrata sui personaggi di Antonella, il mastermind, e Giovanni Aiello, l’uomo fuori fuoco.
Per anni abbiamo visto la storia narrata dal punto di vista dei criminali o dei magistrati, ma nessuno ancora ha raccontato gli anni 70, 80 o gli anni 90 attraverso la prospettiva di un apparato importantissimo e che ha fatto la storia di quegli anni: i servizi segreti.

Partendo dal rapimento Moro, trascinandosi tra gli anni di Piombo, l’operazione Blue Moon, le stragi terroristiche, Mani Pulite e Cosa Nostra, Stay Behind ripercorre queste tappe attraverso un personaggio realmente esistito, plausibilmente raccontato e completamente nascosto all’epoca: tale Antonella.

Antonella era la collega di Faccia Da Mostro, ovvero Giovanni Aiello, un uomo che dagli anni 70’ avrebbe rimbalzato tra servizi segreti e criminalità organizzata, rendendolo il sicario al centro di molti crimini eccellenti e irrisolti tra cui l’omicidio Mattarella, il mancato attentato all’Addaura e per recarci del cuore della storia, di quello di Capaci e di Via D’Amelio.
Antonella sarebbe stata ben più terribile del sicario e uno degli agenti di Stay Behind più giovani in assoluto. Un personaggio perfetto per raccontare il fascino del male, con una beata strafottenza, attraverso una figura nascosta che, simbolicamente, detiene l’agenda rossa di Paolo Borsellino.
Antonella sarebbe stata ben più terribile del sicario e uno degli agenti di Stay Behind più giovani in assoluto. Un personaggio perfetto per raccontare il fascino del male, con una beata strafottenza, attraverso una figura nascosta che, simbolicamente, detiene l’agenda rossa di Paolo Borsellino.
Antonella was Monster Face’s colleague: a man that from the 70s would have circled around secret services, organised crime and state, making him the sicario at the center of many crimes that made the history of Italy. The omicide of the senator Mattarella, the attack at Addaura, Domino, Nino D’agostino and, to get closer to the hear our story, both execution of Paolo Borsellino & Giovanni Falcone.
Antonella is thought to be more dangerous than the sicario and one of the youngest Stay Behind agents. A perfect character in order to describe the charm of evil with arrogance of this hidden figure that, symbolically, holds Borsellino’s notebook.

The red notebook is in fact the focal point of the film since Antonella, only voice of the film, travels through the scenarios of those years.
